Betting on Yourself
Recently, Kate Elliott shared her story of betting on herself with the launch of Koti Design Co. In fact, she took a leap from roles in the Tech industry to lean into her creativity through home staging and interior styling. Ironically, she found the skills she used in previous roles applicable to her business.
Don’t miss Betting on Yourself.

And if you missed the last post, check out the reflection on Decision Making and Accountability in Teens. The mental load on parents as we shift into teenage years. In this reflection, it became apparent there suddenly feels like a lot of pressure on the lessons taught in decision making and the foundation of accountability.
WELCOME!
Motherhood is a crazy journey in self-doubt and uncertainty. As a result, I find myself wishing ON THE REGULAR for a non-existent manual. A few years ago, this prompted me to begin sharing pieces of my story from the vantage point as Lowey Fraternity House President. Pranks, chaos, sports every night, mom meltdowns, laughs... we've got a bit of it all going on over here.
Then an evolution of The Mom Huddle began. Women with amazing stories just waiting to be shared began emerging everywhere. Moreover, I had the platform to do just that! Inspiring women through story telling.
At the core of it, I am convinced we can all be our own version of successful. Furthermore, it's WAY MORE FUN to do this motherhood thing surrounded by a supportive team. Therefore, let's enjoy the perfectly imperfect moments in The Mom Huddle!
Subscribe to share in the craziness of motherhood and feel part of our team. We definitely don't have all the answers (I mean, who does?!). Even so, knowing someone else shares moments of mom guilt and has similar thoughts and feelings creates a community. Welcome and enjoy!

Who’s In Your Huddle?
THE FIVE IN YOUR HUDDLE First and foremost, I have to admit something. This version of Who’s In Your Huddle was not the first or second or third version of this story. In fact, I scrapped all of the previous ones. If you are thinking, “who cares?” it’s okay. However, I’m telling you this because it taught me a lesson. Furthermore, it’s a lesson I think we all need to hear from time to time. Here goes…. If something is not resonating with you, listen to your gut. My gut was telling me something about what I was writing wasn’t quite...
The Sport of Busy
GAMES ARE CANCELLED Who has not silently cheered upon receipt of this text or email? "Due to the rain, games are cancelled for this evening." Let's be honest, I'm a super visually emotional person, therefore, my cheering is RARELY silent! YAAAAASSSSSSS!!!!!! Please tell me you know the feeling. In summary, life is a sport of busy no matter what your game plan is. Within seconds of receiving the text, you have moved on to thoughts of accomplishing a mental list of the eight THOUSAND things you are going to get done with this sudden...
Epic Story of Biscuit the Dog
AN EPIC DOG STORY We are going to veer off a bit from my theme of motherhood for a different type of post. However, I think you will still enjoy this epic story of Biscuit the Dog. For me, this story is one of those tales I'm pretty sure my grandchildren will hear about one day. Think of this post as the adult version of show and share for some laughs. I was reminded of this particular story today because of two things. First off, I was literally at the scene of the crime in the same car headed to the same place I was when it took...
Mom Guilt: Not A Life Sentence
MOM GUILT If you are a mother, it would be remiss to think you’ve never been plagued by the infamous Mom Guilt. It creeps up suddenly and experience has taught me it’s most fierce in those moments you are already at the brink of a complete mental break-down. Well, hello Mom Guilt (said in my best narrator voice). But how do we break this cycle which can often feel like a life sentence? I had my two children during what is likely considered the prime of my career climb. For certain, I was considered by social standards the...
Mommy’s Soul on Fire! Who Are Your Cheerleaders?
WHO ARE YOUR CHEERLEADERS? Do your children really know what mommy is feeling and what makes you tick? In particular, what makes "Mommy's Soul on Fire?" Stick with me here for a second. First, think about this. We live in a day and age where, arguably, everything seems to be about our kids. Are they getting enough sleep, nutrition, Vitamin D, milk, exercise? In addition, is this too much screen time, are they stimulated enough, will they be bullied, do they have friends, are they being a friend? And we haven’t even started in on the...
The Journey Begins – Finding My Purpose
THE JOURNEY BEGINS.... Thank you for joining me! I recently began an amazing journey to finding purpose. While this can mean a lot of things, subsequently for me it meant writing again. Although being a novice, I likely went at the whole thing a little backwards. First, I began by starting to write a book. Frankly, this is something I have always wanted to do. Secondly came writing articles, journaling, and doing a lot of reading myself. Thirdly, and I'm finding most importantly, came a website. THAT has been a true test of my...
