LINKING INDY WOMEN- BLOG WRITER HEATHER LOWEY

In March of 2019, I approached the founders of Linking Indy Women regarding the monthly speaker series and blog re-caps. Consequently, I am now providing the blog writing service for this organization. Linking Indy Women is providing a way for Indy women to connect, inspire, and share their stories. Ordinarily, the packed house gathers at the Hatch the third Wednesday of every month.

The inspirational speakers provide their story to women of all ages. In addition, this becomes a networking opportunity for city women leaders. Afterward, they leave feeling empowered, inspired, and with a sense of connection to other leaders, who also happen to be fellow women. Visit the Linking Indy Women site for more information. As an example, I’ve also provided links to a few of the most recent blog re-caps below:

ALEX PERRY– Founder of Practically Speaking and Author of Minivan Mogul

CHRISTINA ZERFAS on the Art of the Scheme

LISA SIRKIN-VIELEE– President of Well Done Marketing

REBECCA FLEETWOOD-HESSION– Founder and CEO of WEthrive.live

GWENDOLYN ROGERS– Founder of The Cake Bake Shop

AMANDA CLARK– Founder of Cocktails & Chemo

THE MOM HUDDLE- BLOG WRITER HEATHER LOWEY

In 2019, I began writing a book, Motherhood: The Non-Compete Sport. Out of this reflection, it occurred to me that a blog would be a great platform to create a community for moms who want to be a part of a team. Motherhood is a crazy journey. Emotional rollercoaster coupled with self-doubt and mix in some imperfect moments and you’re basically there in understanding this phenom. There is no mom manual. In fact, there isn’t a right or wrong way to be a mom. Trial and error. Mix and match. A+ one day, F the next. You get the picture.

The Mom Huddle shares stories of my journey in motherhood as well as stories mixed in from my teammates. By no means am I telling anyone how “they should” be a mom. I am just sharing these stories to create community in what can sometimes feel like a lonely space in a woman’s life. Creating connection for a mom who maybe feels alone in her thoughts and emotions. Furthermore, motherhood shouldn’t be competitive since we’re all on the same team. So enjoy the stories from this Mom Huddle. Welcome to The Mom Huddle!

ARE WE THERE YET- BLOG WRITER HEATHER LOWEY

During the summer of 2018, Jeremy and I earned a five-week sabbatical from adidas due to years of service. As a result of this gift of time, we took a three-week RV trip out West with the family. To regularly keep our family and friends updated on our progress, I wrote a blog to share in this adventure.  You can see the stories from our trip on the Are We There Yet blog. Incidentally, it was likely this blog that sparked my love for writing again. Maybe I will look back on this initial travel blog as a “where it all began” one day!
